In 1958 Malcolm Cockburn and his friend Michael Hawes drove this Citroen 2CV to Ceylon. They went on by ship to Australia.

Engineer, Farmer and Adventurer

Malcolm Dampier Cockburn was educated at Sherborne School and Cambridge University, where he read engineering. He spent most of his life running the family farm at Hilfield, near Sherborne, Dorset. He is an adventurous traveller, having at the age of 18 driven with a friend his Citroen 2CV to Ceylon. He later undertook numerous international expeditions by light aircraft and motorcycle. This life story is extracted from his printed memoir Memorabilia.
