Jeremy James Heath-Caldwell is an electrical engineer who has developed two significant websites. One of these records the history of his ancestors, with illustrations from his extensive collection of relevant paintings and books. The other is an online directory of surveyors and other property professionals called Local Surveyors Direct. He was born in New Zealand, and was brought up there, going to school in Stratford and Wanganui. He completed a BSc in Physics at Otago University in Dunedin and then left New Zealand in 1980 on a one year working holiday in the UK. Apart from a brief period working in Egypt and Oman in the early 1980s, he has remained in the UK for the rest of his career.
