An Author’s Childhood
The author Vyvyen Brendon was educated at Reigate County School for Girls and St. Anne’s College Oxford. She wrote this account of her childhood before starting research on her book about other people’s schooldays - Prep School Children. She wanted to see how much she could remember before reading other people’s reminiscences. She has written two other books of childhood social history: Children of the Raj, and Children at Sea. She has also written, as a history teacher, a series of books in the History at Source series, published by Hodder Education. These include: The Age of Reform, The Edwardian Age, and The Making of Modern Italy.
