Robert Braddick’s family have lived and worked for several generations in the Devon seaside town of Westward Ho!. The town has the distinction of being the only town in the UK to have an exclamation mark in its name. This originality sits well with the career of Robert Braddick. He is a diverse and colourful entrepreneur with interests in local hotels, restaurants, bars, and amusement arcades. He attracted international attention as a philanthropist when he bought a long lease from the Council on a sea front car park. Instead of installing ticket machines, he made the car park free to use - an act of generosity which was much appreciated by local residents and by visitors.
