peter hone, born 1941
master plaster caster
Peter Hone started his life as a baby orphan, grew up to be a pastry cook, a museum attendant, an antique dealer, a garden ornament salesman, and a master plaster caster. He is a serial and expert collector, who turned his one-bedroom flat in London W11 into an extraordinary museum of collectables - including his own plaster casts of antiquities. In both 2016 and 2023 he sold the contents of his flat at auction, realising over £1 million in the first auction and over £250,000 in the second, smaller auction. He used part of the proceeds of the first sale to buy a cottage in Penzance, Cornwall, which will now become his main home.
