The architect Kenneth Baker played a key part in the development of the new city of Milton Keynes in Buckinhamshire. He was extremely passionate about the area and was well known for his attention to detail, alongside his innovative construction methods. He first began working for MKDC in the early 1970s where he was initially tasked with creating road layouts for the centre of Milton Keynes. He would then go on to help with the creation of many neighbourhood landmarks, including Milton Keynes Central railway station, Campbell Park, Church of Christ the Cornerstone as well as Milton Keynes shopping centre – the first and only listed shopping centre in the UK.
