ARTIST & DRAUGHTSMAN

Jon Harris, who was educated at Winchester College and Trinity Hall, Cambridge, is an artist and draughtsman who has spent most of his life in Cambridge. He now lives in Kings Lynn. Jon Harris has lived, breathed, and drawn Cambridge for over 50 years. His architect’s sense of structure and fabric, his draughtsman’s eye and vigorous use of pen and brush have produced an outstanding body of work. The illustration above is an example of his meticulous curiosity and his skill in both drawing and calligraphy.

His work was celebrated in a lavishly illustrated book ‘Artist About Cambridge’ by Patrick Carnegy and Rob Howard, published by Lutterworth Press in 2018. This life story comprises two chapters of that book, reproduced with permission.
