PROFESSOR OF CLINICAL NEUROPSYCHOLOGY

Barbara Jacquelyn Sahakian, FBA, FMedSci is Professor of Clinical Neuropsychology at the Department of Psychiatry and the Behavioural and Clinical Neuroscience Institute, University of Cambridge. She has an international reputation in the fields of cognitive psychopharmacology, neuroethics, neuropsychology, neuropsychiatry and neuroimaging. She was a founder member of the International Neuroethics Society and is Past-President of the British Association for Psychopharmacology. Sahakian undertook her PhD at Darwin College, Cambridge, and is a Fellow of Clare Hall. She is best known for her work on cognitive enhancement using pharmacological treatments, early detection of Alzheimer's disease, cognition and neuroethics. She has published more than 400 academic papers.
