Ayesha Vardag is the founder and president of London-based solicitors Vardags. Their core business is acting for the very wealthy in divorce proceedings. Raised in Oxford, Vardag read Law at Queen’s College Cambridge. She qualified as a solicitor in 1996 after training at Linklaters. Prior to becoming a family lawyer, she worked for the New York law firm Weil, Gotshal & Manges. Vardag founded Ayesha Vardag solicitors in 2005, which incorporated as Vardags in May 2010. She attributes her success to having brought the dynamic and exacting culture of financial litigation to the world of family law. Vardag's clients in divorce proceedings have included members of the Royal Family, heiresses, footballers and entrepreneurs. The firm is based in London, but reflecting the international nature of her clientele Vardag has lived in Winchester, then in Dubai. She now lives in a Palazzo outside Florence with her second husband Stephen Bence. They have between them five children.
