Anne Johnson, Born 1954
PROFESSOR OF EPIDEMIOLOGY

Dame Anne Mandall Johnson DBE FMedSci is a British epidemiologist, known for her work in the areas of HIV, sexually transmitted infections and infectious diseases. Johnson received a BA in Medical Sciences from the University of Cambridge in 1974. In 1978, she received her Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery in Clinical Medicine from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne. She obtained an MSc from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine in 1984. Johnson is Professor of Infectious Disease Epidemiology at University College London. In this transcription of an interview by Jim Al-Khalili she descrbes her education, her travels, and her career.
