COMPUTER SCIENTIST & ENTREPRENEUR

Born in Warsaw, Poland, in 1953, Andy Hopper came to the UK as a child. He took his degree in computer engineering at the University of Wales in Swansea, and his PhD on computer networking at Cambridge University. He rose to become head of the university’s computer science department, and was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society. He also was founder or co-founder of several successful Cambridge technology companies. He is a qualified pilot with over 6,000 hours logged, including a round the world flight.
