Andrew Garlick, Born C.1953
Harpsichord maker

Andrew Garlick is a leading British harpsichord maker. His instruments, interpretations of 18th century harpsichords, are sold to professional performers and keen amateurs worldwide. He made his first harpsichord when he was sixteen. The historic makers on whose instruments his harpsichords are based include Goujon, Colmar Ruckers and Vaudry. Garlick, who is based at Buckland St.Mary, near Chard, Somerset, UK, works alone, making every part of each harpsichord. The instruments are commissioned, and are richly decorated to reflect the customer’s preference. He produces about five harpsichords a year.
